Thelwall Junior’s main hall was a hive of activity on 11 November as the children celebrated the 60th anniversary of the opening of the present school building. Parents, former teachers and pupils were delighted to share in the celebrations and greatly enjoyed the displays produced by the children. The children had been exploring the history of the village through photos, memories and archive material from the 1830s to the present day. The original architects plans and drawings for the first Thelwall’s National School on Gig Lane were also on display.
